Things are good. Baby Dylan is growing like a weed. Every night I fall to sleep to the soft little thump thump thump of his little hands and feet flailing and kicking- it's pure love, it's comforting, and it allows me to sleep knowing that he is good and happy.
Hannah is learning a handful of words everyday. There are too many to count now with her latest addition being "uncle" which makes Uncle Neil feel quite proud and special. She is very independent now, wanting to run and walk on her own without holding hands, keeping busy doing things that make her happy and surely not what we ask her to do- the correction is hard but she is learning that sometimes Mom and Dad say things for a reason and for her own protection and good. This stage is so fun. She is quite the little entertainer and usually has us laughing.
Thankful for amazing friends! Some people and even friends have a way of sapping every ounce of energy I have after spending not long together, and then there are others who are so supportive, don't whine, don't want constant attention on themselves/their child(ren), are not all about competition (who's kid is doing what, when and how much better, who is a cuter pregger, who has the best husband, how smart and big kids are) and honestly love you for who you are. Thank you beautiful, simple, real people- I love you!
Looking forward to our Fourth of July. It didn't start that way. I was super bummed because this is likely the last year of being able to go to Grandpa and Grandma's old farmhouse and spending time on the Snake River and we aren't able to go, due to Michael only having Wednesday off. I was quite sad and felt left out but Michael reassured me that we would make this 4th special in our own celebratory way. So we proceeded to make plans- they consist of spending a day at the pool, bbq, special holiday treats, a parade (I think Hannah is going to love it), Bible Study, and then fireworks. It's gonna be a good day and I am excited!
What are your Fourth of July plans?

One of those kind of days.
What a day. Woke up sounding like a man when I talk and super dizzy because of my cold and feeling like I could barely walk because my back was so far out. Had to get ready for the day. Dropped Hannah off at Grammy's house and headed out to Enumclaw for my prenatal appointment.
On the way home I stopped to get a Jamba Juice because that sounded good on my raw throat, just to find out that they had gone out of business. Headed to Grammy's to pick up my little ray of sunshine, I got there and she was still sleeping and in need of a good nap. By this point there was no point in me going to work because I teach swim lessons at 3 on Monday afternoons. I waited for Hannah to wake up and we headed home. I had 45 minutes to make her lunch, get us ready for the pool, and head out.
We were doing good on time when I left the house. We turned off of 1st ave, driving down the big hill to the pool, and what do you know? I got pulled over by a not-so-friendly mr. officer. When I saw him I looked down and saw that I was going 35 and the speed limit is 25 so I was definitely speeding but of course I was frustrated. I didn't have a reason to be speeding, we had plenty of time but I was just driving, enjoying the beautiful day and not paying attention to my speed- oops! Well Mr. BadDay claimed that his radar caught me at 40 mph and he wanted to know if my address was correct and I said yes, so then he wanted to know why I was in NP as if I was on a road that said "Welcome to NP, No Trespassing" - no, no, no I don't think so. But instead of getting an attitude I just said "swimming" to which he replied "hmm, where at?" as if I wasn't up the road from a swim pool- really?!?! I told him that I teach swim lessons at NP and so he went back to his car and got on his phone. Ten minutes later he showed up at my window and said "I had to write you a ticket because of your speed"- I took the piece of paper and headed to the pool.
I was now 10 minutes late to teach swim lessons but I get my kid, hand my child to my cousin who was going to babysit and we get in the water. From the start of the lesson things are not going well. All he could say was "NO!" and "I don't want to" and "I'm scared" and "don't make me" and then the all out scream so that everyone looked at me, wondering what in the world I was doing to this child when in fact he was screaming because he refused to kick his feet. I finally told him I was going to quit teaching him swim lessons if this didn't stop and we were going to get out of the pool right this second to which he responded "no" in a whiny voice and proceeded to actually kick his feet to the edge of the wall- where he successfully made it the two feet without drowning- shocking that when I say "I'm not going to let you drown" that I actually mean it (ha)! The last 5 minutes went relatively well and we headed to the locker room. We got all ready to go home and he asked me if I was going to tell his nanny that he was bad, and I told him "well, that is what I SHOULD tell her" he said "no, no don't tell her. Just tell her that I was good," I said "no way, because you weren't" and he responded with "well then just tell her that I was medium"- so I agreed. The day seemed like everything went wrong.
I got back home with an upset child because she didn't get her own Starbucks tea and I wonder how this day could ever turn out good. Just as I have this thought of there is nothing good about this day, my sweet husband opens the door and tells me everything is okay, it will all work out, and to take the evening off. As amazing as that sounds, my house looks like a tornado went through the kitchen and living room so I thought there was no way that I can "do nothing, and just relax." However, he proceeded to go to the store, get groceries for dinner, cook dinner, and offered to take Hannah and I "out"- on a date/adventure. He really is amazing.
I decided that I wanted to sit down and write about my ridiculous day and as I did I realized there are as many things that went good as things that went bad, and there is a whale of a lot more to be thankful for than to gripe about.
So thinking about all the positives today...Hannah slept until 8:45 this morning (almost unheard of now a days), the sun has been shining with no clouds in the sky and 75 degrees, at my prenatal appt I got to hear sweet Dylan's heart beat and found out that he is growing a week ahead of schedule, he seems quite healthy and happy in there, we belong to an awesome swim club, I have a sweet cousin who is the best babysitter in town, I have a little girl who always manages to be the sunshine on a "cloudy" day, and the most amazing husband in the world.
So what am I complaining about- life is good! How was your day?

Random- Stream of Conciousness.
As I lay here trying to put my tired eyes to sleep, listening to my baby breathe softly, my husband snore and twitch quietly, and my son kicking and doing somersaults, I just feel that I have to write.
Things are well. I am 22 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I feel Dylan moving very often! I love the reassurance of his little kicks saying ''Hi Mom, I'm here and I am doing well- growing and getting healthy and strong." It is love.
Hannah is growing up all the time. So crazy to think that we are already 15 months into this parenting journey with the most amazing little girl in the world. She is so aware and takes in more than I give her credit for. She says things and does things out of the blue that let us know that she doesn't miss anything and knows exactly what we are saying. Her new words are "app joosss"= any liquid (apple juice, water, or other), "feeshh"=fish but "papa" "nan" "beh" "nee" "mom" "da" "bye bye" (said with a southern accent, "hi" and "uh-oh" continue to be her favorites. So much learning and changing-I know I say that almost every time I write a post but I am honestly, continually amazed by the new things she picks up, every single day.
Thanks for letting me write. More with pictures another time when my Tazo Calm tea isn't doing such a good job of doing it's job.

It's a Boy!
We were so excited to be able to have a couple of our friends and family meet us at the pool for a little gender reveal party! It seemed like today took a long time to get here but now I can't believe it's already over and that we finally know what our sweet little bean is.
As people started arriving, they each chose a tag to represent their vote of whether they thought it was a boy or a girl. We ate a delicious taco salad dinner that my Grandma prepared and then it was time to dig into the cupcakes. Michael and I got a two second head start to bite into ours first and what do you know it was filled with a delectable BLUE frosting!!!! So exciting!!
I felt like I have known for that last little while that this little one was a boy but it's 50/50 and really everyone is just guessing (as much as many like to think that they "know" or that they can "tell" by whatever their "secret" way is- I think that it is all phoney bologna and it drives me nuts that they think that they "know")- wow-sorry for the tangent.
I'm excited and a little nervous! I understand how to do the "girl thing" so all of this boy stuff will be new and different and I can hardly wait!! Bring it on- cars, trucks, balls, and legos- here we come!

Update.
It's been a while. Every time I write a post in the last 6 weeks I end up not having the courage to hit "post", and so my wall remains empty of new details.
We are doing well. I got to do my first doula job for someone other than one of my good friends, and it was awesome! I feel like I made new friends in the mom, her husband, and her sweet baby girl. The miracle of bringing a baby into this world, never ceases to amaze me- how perfect He has it all planned and worked out and how things progress, and change, that a beautiful child could be born. Leaves me so thankful and awe-struck.
Hannah is doing well. Walking, climbing, getting into everything, and constantly babbling- some words making sense and others, not so much. She loves talking on the phone, playing at the beach, making and listening to music, play dates with her friends, story times, and in general she loves anything where she can be outside. This stage is so fun. Full of discovery- words, places, and otherwise. We love her, she's our sunshine!!
Baby seems to be doing well. We get to find out in two weeks what this sweet little bean is- boy or girl? Either way we are excited- which I hope is how it will be for every child we have. I do not think that it is fair to wish for one gender so much that a person is so surprised and slightly disappointed by the fact that it is not their gender of choice- really? Every child deserves the SAME amount of love, boy or girl- regardless of what the parents want. It kills me to watch people be disappointed in the gender and always wish for the other. Okay, I'll get off my soap box. A girl would be fun because Hannah would have a little sister and there is no better friend than a sister (trust me, I know), and we would have everything we need for a girl because she would get hand me downs from Hannah- so that would be slightly cheaper. However, a boy sounds so fun. A little brother to love on, a boy to do "boy" things with- sports, dirt, etc. But either way, I can HARDLY wait!! I can't wait to prepare things- pink or blue. Any predictions?
Predictions on gender crack me up. They say that the mom's "gut" feeling is correct 70% of the time. Well, amongst my friends we have definitely proven that number WRONG! :) One of my best friends felt like she was probably having a girl, only to find out (after a bit of a mix up with a bakery incorrectly decorating a cake) it was a boy. My other friend was SO sure she was having a boy, that they bought an entire pick up load of boy stuff off of Craigslist, only to find out yesterday that they are actually having a girl. So, from the beginning I kind of had a slight feeling this was a girl but now I am totally convinced that I am having a boy! This is gonna be fun.
To reveal the gender, my Mom is going to be given a sealed envelope with a picture and a word that will either reveal "girl" or "boy". She will be the ONLY person to know (yes, including those of you who think she should tell you, text you, email you, etc- tough luck! She has promised that not a soul will know besides her) and she is one person that I completely trust my mom! She is going to bake some of her delicious cupcakes and fill the center with either pink of blue frosting. We are inviting just a few of our friends to the pool with us and we will all bite into a cupcake at the same time and the gender will be revealed!! I can hardly wait! We will definitely post pics and share our news on here.
Thanks for your patience with my lack of posting, or should I say lack of courage to post.

Life.
So lacking in the posting department, yet again! Things are going well here. We are getting ready to celebrate one very big, exciting, one year old birthday!!! Our sunshine is taking steps on her own- walked all the way across the living room all by herself last night. She gets more brave every day in letting go of things and just going on her own. It is so exciting and fun to watch her learn and grow but at the same time it makes a small part of me sad. I miss my little bundle who just wanted to snuggle, be fed, and sleep. I look at pictures from last year when she was born, and I get all teary eyed over how fast she has grown and changed. I love my little sunshine and honestly, every stage is fun.
The last couple of weeks have been very full. Most recently last Thursday this is what we got to see:
Getting to watch that teensy little heart beating has got to be one of the best feelings as a parent-to-be. Just knowing that there is life in there and it really is real, is one amazing and overwhelming feeling of love for this little one that you will not meet for seven and a half more months.
We have a busy March planned and will try to keep pics and up to date, on here.
Happy Tuesday!

Hello 2012.
So it's been a very long time. I'm gonna do better. At least try.
So it's not me Monday. This is where we say the things that we would never admit to actually doing- things that a mom would never (wink, wink) do or say. So hear I go.
Today, I did not almost have an anxiety attack on my way home from work. I did not almost skip out on my workout. I did not only eat half of the dinner my husband brought me. I did not make mashed potatoes and eat almost 3/4 of a bowl, sharing only a couple of bites with my daughter. I did not admit any of my failures to everyone on my blog. I did not just eat two frango's while watching some silly show on Hulu called Make It or Break It. I did not just click next on to the next episode when I have laundry to put away, dishes to do, and a bedroom to clean. Yep, nope, not me on this Monday. :)
What did you do on this 'Not Me Monday'?
Sunshine turned 10 months old yesterday. So hard to believe that it's been almost a year. Makes me want to cry and smile all at the same time. She grows and changes all the time learning new things every day. We love all of these changes. Everyday she gives us something new to smile and laugh at.
The new year has brought some changes. We started a "Family Get Fit" program and blog that keeps us all motivated and working out for over 300 days a year- it's pretty exciting! I love that we have such a solid group of family and friends that help us stay motivated and gives us inspiration to reach our fitness goals. It's been a great help to me and it is so much fun!
Will add pics and maybe some videos later of little Missy's newest achievements! For now, bed is calling. Goodnight!
